And, The Two Perspectives

Poetry : Me and Mine.

----------------©-----------------

A Conditioned Mind, Can never know,

What Freedom Is! But can sure watch,

And only then know / understand,

How the Mind can get free,

Of the Conditioning, Imposed by itself,

On itself, Because of in-attention only.

That how, Me and Mine,

Define, Limit, and confine,

The Mind / consciousness itself .

The Mind is the consciousness,

And the consciousness is, -the Mind.

For the two are two aspects only,

Of One,the single and unique fact.

One can't exist without the other.

In this knowing, in and understanding,

There is no division, such as I and mine.

For, as soon as the word I is uttered,

And, as soon as the mine is exclaimed,

Me and Mine the two, are defined so!

The Mind and the consciousness, thus,

Split into two; the Me and the Mine.

And as soon as, this twin is created,

One becomes the center, while,

The other becomes the periphery.

The Mind and the consciousness too,

One becomes the center, while,

The other becomes the periphery.

For, the two are but one and the same.

And the person, the individual is cast,

Into a name, into a notional frame.

Who exists not, though appears only.

In the Mind that is; -the consciousness.

Me and Mine, tethered with one-another,

One can never be free from the other.

This endless conflict persists though,

As long as inattention is there,

One doesn't understand, know,

Freedom from the one is but partial,

Freedom from the other is just so.

Seeking the source of any of the two,

Results in the Freedom from both them.

A conditioned mind can never know,

What Freedom Is, how-so-ever though!!

Concerns :The Crucial Question.

Concerns :The Crucial Question.
--
Politics has always diverted our attention from the fact that ethics forms the very foundation of true religion. And any religion is only as much religion as it is ethical, -and not unethical. If we agree to at least in principle to this truth, we can at once get rid of all tradition and orthodox ways of living, that are simply just unethical.
But because of propaganda of politically motivated (false to the name) religions, we have been oblivious of this core-fact. This is a fact, because we can discuss with a free mind what is ethical and what is not; - what is unethical. There is also a code of conduct followed by all men of ethical conscience, and this code of conduct varies to significant extent from one to another society.
A religious group is invariably a loosely woven structure where people follow / observe / practice certain rituals and traditions with less or more rigidity. Every religious group is founded upon a set of 'beliefs', some of which possibly could be proved to be baseless, untrue, even false. Not only that, some of such 'beliefs' are in fact very harmful for the society and humanity as well in many ways.
The core belief which is also called faith is about of the existence of 'God': -one or many. 'Religion' does not allow to inquire into the truth of this belief. The simple fact that (the concept of) such a 'God' could not appeal to many skeptics, non-believers, agnostics. For most of the people, this word does not evoke a response. It is a word like so many innumerable words we use in our conversation, just because we have heard and uttered / repeated this word many times just for convenience. This does not prove / let us know our-self that we know what this word tells about. In other words, we are really totally ignorant about the meaning, exact or round-about, of this word. And though this word slowly gets crystallized in our mind in the form of a 'concept', that concept is formulated and structured according to the social conditioning of our own specific religious group which we belong to. This means, what is 'religious' for our group may not necessarily be 'ethical' according to many other 'religious' groups. We therefore see the differences between various 'religious' groups or religions could never be resolved. And to reach at some common agreement / consensus is almost impossible. This has been the very reason why all religions have always been against each other to the extent of exterminating them at any cost.
This is purely an unethical approach and here we have to consider / there is this urgent need, we should attend to this crucial question : if ethics should not be given an upper hand over religion?
It is not difficult to see that 'religion' could never be understood properly by any of us, where-as every-one of us could instantly be very clear about what is ethical and what is unethical for the good of humankind as a whole. And let us stress that 'humankind' does not limit the 'ethics' because man could also see that humankind could never prosper, survive and be happy in isolation, cut-off from the rest of the living things and beings, 'nature' as a whole.
These things could be and should be given attention by all those well-wishers and thinkers who are concerned about this question of Ethics, Religion, Politics of different 'states', 'progress'.

When you are deprived of love,

When you are deprived of love,
--
When you are deprived of love,
Within and without,
You are no more alive,
But then again,
You are neither dead!
Lying on the thin line,
Between the life and death,
You are niether in a coma,
And though you keep on vegetating,
Like a machine automat,
In a limbo,
In a prolonged suspended animation,
When the limbs though function well,
In that unending long,
Animated suspense,
The spark that had ignited life in you,
Has just lost or gone.
And what brings you back to life,
In that moment,
Is the only love you need,
Within and / or without.

Two Words / दो शब्द

Two Words / दो शब्द

This 'Note' is about The Will of Freedom,
Or, about the question of 'free-will'.
The two words with reference to which I'm (possibly!) going to deal with here are :
1. Option,
2. Obsession.
The etymology of these 2 words according to me is as follows, and please don't try to verify this on the criteria of the 'Academic Linguistics and the Linuguists'.
As I have, irrespective of 'option' / 'obsession', 'studied' and 'discovered' my own  'Etymology', I don't bother about what the scholars or 'academicians' would say about my 'approach'.
So, let us start.
1. Option > अव+पश्यन् (ava+pashyan_) means 'looking at in advance', prior to the happening of an event.
2. Obsession > अव+शेषं > (ava+sheSham_) means the happening that comes out as a 'consequence' / final 'result' of the residual past events.
Again,
Action (कर्म / karm) as is defined in vedik / वैदिक texts comprises of :
1. The aggregate (अग्रे गतिः यस्य > agre gatiH yasya : that which moves in the direction of the next moment / future.)
That which has been done / happened in the past.
2. The action / happening that happens in the present moment, and wherefrom the idea / thought / question of option / 'obsession' / 'free-will' also 'emerges out'. Obviously, this 'idea' is again a consequence of the aggregate past 'momentum'.
3. The action / happening that is anticipated / one is supposed to 'do' / perform in an 'imagined future, one assumes on the basis of the memory of the 'past'.
Well, there is yet another 'explanation' of the way 'कर्म / karma' operates.
This is based on treating the Action / कर्म / karma in terms of कर्म-फल / karma-phala.
When Action / कर्म / karma is seen in terms of a 'result' / 'consequence', it is called 'फल / phala' or  कर्म-फल / karma-phala.
The Action / कर्म / karma' (done / happened) in the past causes 'result' / 'consequence'.
Of these 'results', 'फल / phala' or  कर्म-फल / karma-phala.- good or bad, are either already have been 'experienced' and such 'action / कर्म / karma' and its  कर्म-फल / karma-phala has been exhausted.
There are still 2 kinds of कर्म-फल / karma-phala left, one that has began giving out 'result' in this moment and accordingly one has to perform the same willingly / unwillingly / compulsively. This कर्म-फल / karma-phala is called 'क्रियमाण / kriyamANa'.
Another कर्म-फल / karma-phala is the sum-total of the कर्म-फल / karma-phala that are still in the coming lot, 'pending', plus that, which has accrued as a result of 'क्रियमाण / kriyamANa'.
This last is the future 'अनागत / anAgata' कर्म / karma / action, one has to go through in 'future', not in the future according to the imagination / anticipation / fear, but that which will 'happen' inevitably, irrespective of our guess about the same.

It is still a fact,...

It is still a fact,
--
© Vinay Kumar Vaidya,
vinayvaidya111@gmail.com
--
It is still a fact,
That we never,
Stand to the fact.
And just because,
We don't see the fact,
We hardly know the fact.
As soon as,
The fact emerges before us,
Sheds its clothes and stands naked before us,
At once we dress it up in the cloak of a comment.
We don't let it say a word.
And though it speaks not in words,
And though has
nothing to hide,
Reveals its form,
As of the shadow of the Reality,
It is ever the light of.
And if we can but keep silent for the moment,
It returns to that Reality,
Taking us too in its stride.
--
And though,
The Reality is never old or new,
The fact, never old,
Ever so new.
As Reality,
The fact too,
Is never one,
Nor is many.
But our comment, at once dissects it,
Into many,
Into countless,
Into innumerable.

--
Is not this strange,
How the fiction,
Readily turns the fact,
Into a world full of chaos and strife?
While looking silently the fact,
Lets it take us to the Reality,
Beyond and prior to the Reality,
We are the light of??

Talking to Friends.

Talking to Friends :
--
Talking to friends is like talking to oneself,
In harmony, in freedom, in peace, in a big joy.
Talking to friends is like walking in the woods,
In morning sunshine, in cool air, in open skies.
Talking to friends is like singing the song of heart and love,
In great music, in tone and in tune,
Talking to friends is like walking the lanes of life,
In sweet memories, in old times.

At this moment 'in time',

"At this moment 'in time',

Yesterday,
The clock had shown this very time.
Tomorrow again,
The clock will show the same.
Everyday this happens precisely at this moment.
Punctually and meticulously.
Be it in a working condition,
Or stopped still.
So, what is new there?
Nothing, but isn't this amazing?"

(The above is the English translation of my own Hindi poem that yesterday had I posted on my face-book status update:

बस एक ख़याल !... ,
--
कल भी इस वक़्त,
ठीक यही समय था,
कल फिर होगा,
इस वक़्त,
ठीक यही समय,
हर दिन होता है !
इसमें कौन सी नई बात है?
पर फ़िर भी हैरत की बात तो है ही ! ...
शुभ रात्रि !

Illusions of the intellectual kinds.
Illusions of the optical kinds.
Illusions of the grammatical kinds.

Just now read a brief biography of George Boole, the famous mathematician of wonderful accomplishments. Certainly a genius extra-ordinary.
And a question came up in the mind, like (a) thought that keeps up appearing and disappearing.
Could thought possibly operate upon itself? Is not thought ignorance that looks like knowledge? Is not thought delusion? Is not thought evaluation, formulation? Is not thought distraction? Thought functions within the ambit of the known. How can thought transcend itself? Thought is its own shadow, formed in the light of consciousness. It is only  when the thought, tired of its own restlessness sits silent on its own, that the light of the consciousness is seen, that swallows the thought along-with the shadow.

Life is movement, but this movement presupposes a firm, stable support and foundation so that the movement of life may follow the synchronicity and harmony with everything and every being in it.
These few days have been hot, hard and difficult, though not boring or idle.
Made 2 friends. Shri Alok Dixit and Dr. Amritanshu on Twitter
Alok Dixit was already an old friend, but came to know of Dr Amritanshu,  through Alok ji.

Both are Social Activist, as is the info is given in their profiles.
A year or 2 ago, I knew Alok ji. He (through a fellow blogger Shri Chirag Joshi) had invited me to attend a meeting here at Ujjain where they had some social cause to be discussed. I think, it was about the freedom of expression, speech, and control and monitoring of the media / web. by the Government.

Then I learnt something more about him (Alok ji).
I don't watch TV just because I don't have one.
I could somehow afford only a desk-top and that too sometimes gives way.

Then I read details (on B.B.C.) about How Alok ji is sincere and seriously devoted and committed to his ideals and the way we could 'change' the society.
Here I see He tells his point by way of doing the right thing himself and thus by the example that leaves an impact. I also remember the oft-repeated statement said to have been given by no less that Mahatma Gandhi :
"Be the change you want to bring in the world."
--
Things matter.
There are social-activists and then there are active-socialists.
The former deal with the change and begin with them-selves.
The later had some other motives and interests, to walk-up some ladder of ambition and they them-selves don't become the instrument of change.
Rather they use political and social ideals as the instruments to bolster up their petty aims.
--
Hats off Alok ji !!
