A comment posted originally on a painting,
where Ganesha has been depicted as 'KAmadeva'.

Will-Power !!

~~~Will-Power !!~~~
Will is the urge of the moment,
Ever wedded to success,
Without fail!
It’s neither yours’ nor mine.
It’s always of the moment.
The moment,
That’s always the present.
It never enters the past,
It never touches the future,
-Of our mind.
 The past and the future,
Are already present,
Are always pre-sent,
In this precise moment,
The past and the future,
Of our minds,
Are just the interpretations,
They are just mental modes,
-Of our thought.
If we are thoughtful,
We think,
With the help of thought,
That is always the moment,
The moment,
That is never thoughtless.
But keeps emanating,
Reflections,
Like a volcano,
That emits out,
Lava,
And stones,
And ash and melted rocks,
When in the spate
-Of the moment,
Otherwise cool, calm and tranquil,
Content,
Oblivious of oneself,
And of the world,
-Surroundings,
The Thoughtfulness,
That is the moment,
Spread over all the spaces,
-Of all the times,
Stands ever still,
And is the will.
That is the movement,
-Of  the moment.
And when the volcano erupts,
The Fire and the fumes come out,
Seem to cover-up the Thoughtfulness,
The wakefulness,
The Watchfulness,
Of the volcano,
And enters there a thought,
It’s ‘me’.
And it holds forcefully,
To the melting stones,
The emotions,
Passions and the feelings,
All in a mess,
Strewn-up in this moment,
Gaining their timely reality,
And the time-bound existence,
All the will-o’-the-wisp,
Is that the urge of the moment?
It’s but the fire and smoke,
That blinds the eyes,
-Of  Thoughtfulness,
-Of Wakefulness,
-Of Awareness,
-Of  the Tranquil moment.
The movement, the motion,
- the motive,
The momentum,
All are the content,
-Of  this present moment,
Where time stands still,
The Power of Will.
If you are in the game.
01-1-2012.
© Vinay Vaidya
If you are in the game,
If you are in the game,
You can’t escape the blame.
The game, this ‘prapancha’
Having a body-mind of one’s own,
As of a tree, an animal, or a human,
As of a ‘Ram’, a ‘Krishna’ or a man,
Noble or ignoble,
If you are in the game,
You can’t escape the shame,
Accept it, deny or refute it,
Justify, deify or glorify it.
Be a ‘Guru’, a disciple,
A seeker or a follower,
There is no resolve,
For acquittal or absolve,
You have to accept the verdict,
Be whatever your name.
If you are in the game,
And can’t you claim,
Let the things happen,
Take it in your stride,
Live your life with zeal,
With all fervor,
Enact your role,
Life is such a wonderful gift,
No one ever wants to, nor dies,
When you note this simplest truth,
Tears come to your eyes,
You catch the breath for a moment,
Of bliss, of joy supreme,
If you are in the game,
Play fair and play honestly,
Without guilt or pride,
The waters of life flows,
The stream is deep and wide,
And you never know,
Like it or not,
Where the role comes to the end,
But the joy and bliss of Life,
Never!
Yes it is ‘Tapas’:
Endurance sang-froid,
When performed in this way,
Makes one wise,
The waters are all the same,
If you are in the game,
