उमायाः मनसिजो 'बुद्धि:' शंकरे अक्षिपत् शरं ।
मदनवेशेन तं अशपत् तदा हरःशंकरः ॥
अनङ्गो बभूव कन्दर्पो निराकारोऽपि सः तदा ।
सूक्ष्मदेहेन मनुजस्य बुदधिम् कर्षति सर्वदा ॥
अनङ्गो बभूव कन्दर्पो निराकारोऽपि सः तदा ।
सूक्ष्मदेहेन मनुजस्य बुदधिम् कर्षति सर्वदा ॥
UmAyAH manasijaH Shankare AkShipat saharaM
Madanaveshena ashapat taM haraHshankaaH |
Anango babhUva kandarpo nirAkAro-pi saH tadA
sUkShmadehena manujasya buddhiM karShati sarvadA ||
UmAyAH = Of UmA,
manasijaH = the son born of the mind, (brainchild?)
= manasputra.
Shankare AkShipat = threw Upon the God Shankara,
Madanaveshena = in the guise of 'Kamadeva',
Ashapat taM haraH-Shankara = Hara, Shankara,cursed him.
Anango = bodyless,
babhUva = became,
kandarpo = 'Kamdeva',
nirAkAro- api = and formless also,
saH tadA = he then,
Sukshmadehena =With his subtle body (now)
manujasya = Of human's,
buddhiM = the mind and thought,
karShati = bemuses,
sarvadA = always.
Note : Incidentally, 'manasija' means the one born from the mind,
and is a name of 'Kamadeva' also.
