The Agony That Is Hatred.

And The Wisdom, That Is Love.

------------------------©-------------------------

Modern day's approach has been to follow the mission of spreading Love. No doubt, this looks a noble ideal, and at once appeals too every mind, -not because everyone knows what is Love, but only because every-one has one's own perspective and perception of --  "What Love is."

Though everyone claims that he or she loves his / her country, language, religion, people, religion, the tradition and culture, this love keeps changing its forms and norms all the times from place to place, person to person and the object of love. Not only this, but the love is variously categorized also in terms of good, pure, impure, divine, and Godly too.

We hardly know if love is a feeling, emotion, passion or an act, action, or a reaction. What we call and think is love, soon turns forms and shades, type and kind, hues and colors, with the object that we are in love. And this object too may be some person an abstract notion like religion, ideal, or some sublime goal in life. This life too like the love keeps its form and norm constantly changing. Still in the absence of truly a right word to which all may agree, we stick to these words like love, life, religion, culture, tradition, even God and truth, often just because have been trained and conditioned by the society we live in, in a particular way.

There are so called ethical compulsions also, and we have to observe those manners and social obligations.

In all this consideration, we just forget how these words that are supposed to indicate  those certain realities that we come across moment to moment in our daily lives.

In contrast and comparison, what is hatred?

We are always kind of uncertain and unsure what these various words really mean. And yet we tend to believe we know the meaning. Is it not true?

Now let us see if hatred is also such a word like all those words referred to earlier?

How confidently and often with scorn and disdain, we at once declare I hate this or that simething.

The point is : How this reality; - this hate or the hatred comes into existence in the first place?

Is hatred a feeling, emotion, act, action or a reaction? A passion or compulsion?

Exactly what drives us to cherish hate or the hatred?

There is a simple reason : When something causes us pain, we try to avoid the same. But because of the circumstances we just cannot express our pain and may also not show it.  We may have to suppress this feeling that we dislike a certain thing, person, behavior and so on. Then we begin to cultivate dislike and anger and that gets stored somewhere in our memory.

This is really so simple!

On the other hand, there is also another kind of hate or hatred that we are taught by our tradition, culture and religion; - that certain things are condemneble and we gradually begin to hate those people who follow such things or practices. In almost every religion we may find such practices which may seem to be kind of inhuman.

That is how different traditions, cultures and religions keep on nurturing and nourishing kind of hate or hatred towards the people of other traditions, cultures and religions. Faith is one such word.

Untill and unless we as human find out what this hatred is, we can't eradicate this hate or hatred. But understanding the reason, and the psychology behind it, may sure help us in getting rid of it. Then we can understand the significance of real love, which is not a mere word, nor a feeling, experience,  act, action, reaction or an emotion, but sensitivity and spontaneous response of any living being.
