Puzzled!

Where is the Beginning,

Where is the end?

--

Journey unending!

Journey unending!

--

There was a lake in my city;

There was a sky in that lake;

There was a cloud in that sky;

There was a city in that cloud!

There was a lake in that city;

There was a sky in that lake:

There was a cloud in that sky;

There was a city in that cloud!

So on searching on and on, I;

Lost the thread where-from Where-to,

Was it started, where it would end,

How long I would have to walk,

Where-from where-to till the end!

Could someone help me out of this,

So I can reach my home, don't miss?!

--

I beg to differ...

Poetry complete

------------©------------

When it comes to dictating,

And I just beg to differ,

The authority, wielding power,

Prevents me from speaking out.

When I can't fit into the tradition,

And I'm forced to stay silent.

This unending war,

With tradition,

This unnecessary dispute,

With others,

Stirs up within me,

A revolt,

Where I find myself,

Isolated from, oblivious of,

The surroundings,

That choke my voice,

And my breath.

I seriously feel,

It's no life worth living,

Rather a slow Death only.

That takes such a long time,

And looks like eternity.

Of Temple and Church.

And the ways of the Politics.

--

Digambar Kamat; A Congress MLA of Goa State Assembly with seven others, defected from the Congress party and joined the BJP.

When asked ;

"Why he left the Congress when earlier he had promised consolidity with the party..."

He said :

I went to temple and asked God what to do?,

And the God told him to do what is best to do for  him.

Accordingly and following his conscience he left the Congress party and joined the BJP.

The Congress called this "Operation Keechad".

Keechad in Hindi means : mud where the lotus takes roots.

Earlier, the Congress used to call the political activities of the BJP "Operation Lotus".

Then they found an alternative to "Lotus" and renamed the same as "Keechad".

But salient part of the story is ;  earlier he went to a temple and to a church also.

The temple and the church; both dominate the politics of Goa.

At both the places he directly addressed the God of his conviction and asked for God's consent.

There was no middleman any. No hint from any  priest, any book, yet some-one or some-thing else to decide and find out for him, what should be done by him.

We can't say if this God has a form or is He form-less one. Is He a personal God or an impersonal one, - either in the capacity of his own as a deity, or the Supreme Lord, the One that is supposed to govern the entire and the whole existence.

The Legend of Ashtavakra.

____________________________

Ashtavakra was born of Kahor (कहोळ) and Sujata (सुजाता). While Ashtavakra was still in his mother's womb, Kahor (कहोळ), sitting beside his wife, reciting the Vedas (वेद), -to their great surprise, the child in the womb suddenly cried out:

"Father!

Even lying in my mother's womb, I have already learnt all the Vedas (वेद) through your grace. But I regret that you often make mistakes in your recitation."

Kahor (कहोळ) took this as a grave insult, and cursed him that he would be born with eight parts of his body deformed.

Accordingly in course of time the child was born and was named Ashtavakra (अष्टावक्र -one, who has eight limbs of his body curved). In the meanwhile, Kahor (कहोळ) went to the court of Janaka to beg money from the king. The king had at that time in his court a great scholar called Vandi (वन्दी -Vandin - वन्दिन्), son of king Varuna (वरुण). He was profoundly versed in the Vedas. Kahor (कहोळ) was called to a debate by him, was defeated and thrown into the sea where he had to be engaged as a priest in a sacrifice performed by Varuna.

When Ashtavakra (अष्टावक्र) grew to be a lad of twelve and heard of the sad plight of his father, he repaired to the court of the king Janaka (राजा जनक), - in company with his maternal uncle (मातुलः / मामा) - Svetaketu (श्वेतकेतु). Being a mere boy he was not first allowed entrance into the court, but when he gave proof of his extra ordinary learning in the Sastras (शास्त्र), he was cordially welcomed. He at once sought out his father's opponent Vandi (वन्दी / वन्दिन्) and entered into a debate with him. A wonderful controversy ensued, and the boy of twelve defeated the foremost veteran scholar of the court of Janaka (राजा जनक). He rescued his father from the grip of Varuna (वरुण) . Kahor was highly satisfied with his son, and asked him to bathe in the river samanga  (समाङ्ग), and lo! he came out of the waters with all his limbs made straight. But his name continued the same for ever.

Cross-References :

--

Abrahamic religion

Conclusion :

In this post, I have tried to connect all the references that are relevant to the history of all major religions of the day.
